Meet Dr. Shah
A native of New Jersey, Samir S. Shah earned his BA summa cum laude in three years from Boston University, and went on to graduate with honors from Boston University’s School of Medicine in 1998 with an MD degree.
Dr. Shah is a board certified diagnostic radiologist who completed his residency at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center, where he received the Baum-Laufer Award for excellence in service to the residency. Afterwards, he went on to complete a fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Northwestern University.
Dr. Shah completed his Masters of Medical Management degree at Carnegie Mellon University in 2012. He has previously served as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Prior to joining vRad, Dr. Shah spent time in private practice before joining NightHawk Radiology and serving as a Medical Director.
Dr. Shah has lectured nationally as a consultant for GE Healthcare on contrast media usage. He has also volunteered his time sitting on the Boards of the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship Program and the Pennsylvania Radiological Society.
Dr. Shah has won multiple awards for his research in radiology, has authored many scientific articles in the radiology literature, and serves on several national radiology committees. He is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for Imaging Economics. He is also a former Councilor for the American College of Radiology and recently served as the President of the Pittsburgh Roentgen Society.
